What no app can do
Tell you what your dream means. Miller wrote in 1901 for a different world; Freud disagreed with him about almost everything; a modern language model will happily invent a third view. A good app makes the sources visible and leaves the meaning to you. That is the standard we built Dreamlore to, and the reason this page shows other apps' strengths plainly.

Which dream interpretation app is best?
It depends on what you want. For a quick generated reading, Dreamly and Dreamy are polished and well rated. For lucid dreaming, Lucidity and Oniri. If you want to see where an interpretation comes from, Dreamlore is the only app in this list that quotes the source books word for word and drops anything it cannot verify.
Is there a free dream interpretation app?
All of the apps above are free to install with a paid tier. Dreamlore is free to start with a reading a day, and its 2,251-symbol dictionary is free on this website without the app.
Can ChatGPT interpret dreams?
It can write a plausible interpretation, and many people use it that way. What it cannot do is show you what a dream book actually says, because it generates the text rather than quoting it. Dreamlore uses an AI to write the reflection but only lets it quote passages that match the source word for word.
Is AI dream interpretation accurate?
No dream interpretation, by a person or an AI, is accurate in the sense of being provably true. The useful question is whether you can see where a reading comes from. Dreamlore shows the passage and the book; other apps ask you to trust the output.
